Description
Rudbeckia is a daisy-type flower that I grow in my garden. This one, with the double petals, is a short-lived perennial, meaning that it will last for a few years only, so I grow them from seed. They are lovely, bright, happy flowers and great fun to bring back to life in a painting.
As yellow is the predominant colour, I have done a complimentary background colour of purple, which makes the flowers pop.
Since it is a pastel painting, it is framed behind glass. The frame is a light oak-effect and a buttermilk-coloured mount. The painting is 9cm x 28cm, the mount is 5cm wide on the sides and 6cm top and bottom. The frame is 2cm wide. It is wired ready to hang.
