Description
This painting, made in 4 sections of 1 metre x 2 metres is a painting from the South Welsh Coast of Ogmore, near to Porthcawl and Bridgend.
My idea was to make each section able to be apart from the others in terms of their composition, but to make a complete painting together.
It was a feature painting in a solo exhibition in Skopje in 2017.
The painting depicts a choppy sea during stormy conditions with sea foam floating about the sea wall that it's doing battle with. Waves splash and are thrown about in the immediate chaos, with waves dotted about the background making their way towards the sea wall.
A dynamic painting in black and white acrylic on canvas.
A painting of this size I would consider bringing it to you myself. We would have to discuss the logistics of such a piece and find the best solution. Since I am able to stretch canvases transporting it rolled and the stretcher in pieces would not be a problem. A 4.5 x 1 metre canvas was transported some years ago to a customer in the USA where he had someone stretch it. There are people who can also do the stretching if I wasn't there to do it myself. Or it can be sent complete I believe in 4 sections. It's something we can discuss.
Postage:
My time is spent between Wales and Macedonia -spending 2 to 3 months a year in Wales (Pontypool my home town). It is likely that your painting will be sent from Macedonia with DHL who I have an account with and have been great to deal with.
To send art from Macedonia requires I get a ministry of culture document. I have been doing this for many years here, and usually takes 2 to 3 days to get it.
Although carriage to you is free, any charges incurred at customs - import duty, VAT and any other handling charge is the liability of the customer.
My art:
My business is in the U.K, and much of my inspiration comes from the U.K shores for my seascapes which I specialize in.
I have a background in portraiture and Illustration (college HND West Wales) so I like to paint various other subjects too including landscapes both in the studio and outdoors.
I paint most effectively with oils and acrylics, enjoying watercolour and drawing now and then, to throw in mixed media works also. I also enjoy experimenting with styles, though mainly I paint realistically.
I work mainly on canvas, but enjoy also panels which are quite useful for painting outdoors too.
About me:
My last college was HND design/wildlife Illustration part of Carmarthen college in 1994. Between then and 2003 I created various artworks including portraiture and murals, specializing in graphite pencil at that time.
In 2003 I began the process of learning to paint with oils and the subject of J Class yachts under the guidance of an excellent artist for 2 years. Soon after those 2 years I began to exhibit my seascape art in the U.K and Internationally. I have never stopped working with the sea until this day, my aim to simply get better at it, and to create more challenging scenes.
