Seascapes have been my main focus and specialization since 2003 which I have exhibited internationally and in the UK, enjoying also landscapes and many other subject matter including the use of various media and techniques/styles.
I have a background in figurative work and coming from Illustration College HND in 1994 helps what I am doing today in terms of research and styles.
I enjoy experimentation as it broadens my view and range of what is achievable, creates interest and sometimes needed for a piece to have its personality.
Painting outdoors in oil and alla prima studio work has also added another layer to my artwork leaving its own feel to the piece.
As a summary my art is of a more realistic style which I visualize in mostly when there is an idea to investigate, but also I can work loose, combine media and produce experimental pieces.

Artistic background

After leaving art college I worked with figurative and Illustrative themes, also mural work.
In 2003 I began working with seascapes, stemming from the subject of J Class Yachts. At this time I also learned painting in oils.
During Lockdown I began the practice of Alla Prima which I still continue today.

Interests

My interests are mainly keeping fit including walking, some light jogging and cycling.
Art of course being my main interest, both studio and outdoor.
