Here’s my Heart Oil

Geometry is a favourite subject of mine.

To quote from Leonardo da Vinci

‘Without mathematics there is no art’

How best to utilise the size of a canvas is always a major obsession with me.

Here, the golden ratio came into focus.

A section 35cm x 56 cm was worked separately and the surrounding piece found its own rhythm.
The underpainting was worked in acrylics .
Oil paints , numerous layers give a nice sense of dept and solidity.

I would hope the painting would arouse a sense of calm and serenity in the viewer.
