Description
A strong vibrant colourful semi abstract acrylic painting of a bluebell wood. The title “Beltane” means bright fire in Gaelic. Beltane was a pagan spring festival ( still relevant today) which fell between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. The Mayday celebrations around early May with Maypole dancing and the lighting of bonfires echo this ancient festival. A fertility festival to celebrate new life and the transition of Spring to Summer. The myriad of buttercups and bluebells herald this most beautiful of seasons.
