Purple Haze Acrylic

The painting uses a limited palette to convey an imaginary landscape that, with its heather-like hues, could be in Cumbria or the highlands of Scotland. The play of light bouncing off the headland unites land, water and sky. Paint was applied with brush and knife, and a scratching technique to reveal the canvas grain was also utilised for texture. The scene is continued onto the sides of the canvas. Two coats of varnish have been applied for UV protection and a canvas hanger is attached.
