Blue David Mixed Media

Blue David was inspired by the Statue of David, but with the intention of crossing both realism with a hint of abstract/expressionism. The painting of the statue was creating using oil paints, but the background was created with acrylics and a palette knife. The blue has two intentions - to make the statue pop from within the canvas, but to also convey a more emotional message, a nondescript expression connoting a hopeful or perhaps even a determined appearance.
