Artistic background

Hi,
Thanks for taking a quick look at my art. I have been painting for about 10 years, basically since I started thinking about quitting what was once called the 'rat race', who knows what its called these days?

I am self taught and have developed primarily by trying to copy existing artworks and now enjoy developing my own ideas.
I started painting with oils on canvas, and over the years have gradually moved to painting with acrylics on canvas or canvas board.
I font think I have a particular style, other than its certainly not abstract. I like my art to bear at least some resemblance to the subject. I enjoy painting versions of the great artists, but equally enjoy painting good scenic piece. Recently I've even painted friends' pet portraits.
So, in summary I paint as a hobby, and for enjoyment and pleasure. I hope you enjoy the results.
