Katie Chambers

Katie studied Fine Art at Wolverhampton University achieving a first class honours degree. After going out to see the world for a year She returned with new ideas and took up a Masters degree in Fine Art at Southampton University. After years of teaching she decided to take a Masters degree in Business and Administration which has led her to sell and share her work. Katie has a public piece on permanent show in Wolverhampton situated on a roundabout. Specialising in abstract forms, Katie’s work now explores ideas surrounding process and chance encounters. In her current series of fluid paintings, forms and colours are brought together by the artist’s hand inspired by nature. The work surface has been manipulated through processes such as natural forces, vibration, blowing and of course gravity. The paintings within this body of work are built up of multiple layers using alcohol ink, powders and fine liners. Each work being unique in its own right and each creating it’s own flowing abstract surface juxtaposed with shapes inspired by nature.
