Artistic background

I am a self taught artist, passionate about improving my skills. I have invested into workshops with master watercolourist Joe Francis Dowden and seascape oil artist Roy Lang. I also achieved merit Diplomas in both Landscape and Pet Portraits the London Art College. Due to life expectations, work commitments and keeping a roof over my head I was only able to truly dedicate my time to painting after I retired, now nothing stops me playing daily with paint and colour.

I am currently exhibiting in Church Lane Gallery, Banbury, Oxfordshire, my local, brilliant art co-operative. I also exhibit in local pop up exhibitions. I do, where possible, make an effort to source good quality, suitable, unloved old frames to recycle and update to suit the artwork.

My art is created using only the highest quality materials, mostly in acrylics, oils or beautiful, vibrant soft pastels. I do often get carried away painting with knives and even fingers. Painting is fun to do and fun to share. My subject matter is my personal take on the world as I see it often with diversions into imagination rather than reality.. As time passes I find my passion for painting has constantly evolved, driven by a passion for expresson fhrough vibrant colour.
