YorkArtistic background
Hi, I’m Neil. I’ve been painting since I was a child but didn’t find my painting mojo until I was 20ish when I was living as a chef in Aberdeen and decided my first piece of art would be a board covered in Skittles. I continued to experiment with different forms using pieces of wood washed up on the shore, to paper scrunched up and moving one to acrylics on canvas and paper and then finally moving to stick to acrylics on paper and canvas. I enjoy working with both oil and acrylics the most because I'm impatient :)I’m currently working on a series of original paintings on heavy weight paper, with a nod to Japanese paintings. I've sold paintings all over the world including large commissions for interior designers. I work and live near York with my family working out of my garden cabin when I can.

Every time I paint is a journey into the unknown. Although I have an idea where I want to go, the route is always a little haphazard! I believe every abstract, or expressive piece of art has a little bit of madness within it.Accepts Commissions?
