Artistic background

My name is Lāsma and I am originally from Latvia. I am largely self-taught, with only very minor academic training. I studied interior design at the University of Latvia, but I found it to be too boring and technical for my liking. It was especially clear when I enjoyed painting and drawing more than other study courses. I've always been a true artist at heart.

I always like to say that my artwork is a reflection of my personality. I mostly paint what I feel. My work is abstract and I like to experiment with different techniques, materials and break the rules of traditinal art. I only have a vague idea (or sometimes no idea at all) of each painting, so I never know how the final painting will look like. It's being created spontaneously on the canvas. And I absolutely enjoy that process!

My most recent accomplishment was being chosen as one of the finalists for online group exhibition organised by Florence Contemporary Gallery.

I've joined this marketplace in hopes to sell all my recent work so I can add it to my travel funds as I'm planning to go travelling around the world starting from the next year. Travelling is my other big passion aside of art.
