Artistic background

I have 'O' level art, 'A' level art and a degree in Teaching Primary School Children Hons. I also have a lecturing certificate in ceramics. I moved to the Isle of Lewis on the Hebrides in 2003 after back packing holidays, then travelling round Scotland, Isle of Skye, Isle of Uists and the Hebrides in a motorhome from 2005 to 2007. I discovered a life in the wilds of the countryside and nature, saw so much art, I was overwhelmed by it, I needed to sketch it and paint. I started my journey to paint when I moved to the Isle of Lewis and set up my gallery and coffee shop, called Island Arts in Balallan. Since then I have been shortlisted three times for International Competitions. I am a member of the Society for All Artists and been published many times in their magazine. I have been in the members' gallery, painting photos, entering competitions and letters to the editor and full page editorials. I also enter Artist of the Year with them every year. My dream is to win a place in the competition.
