Artistic background

Born and raised in Nottinghamshire, England, Kris has been developing and exhibiting artwork since 2017.

My artistic journey is a celebration of the world that surrounds me.

I work mainly with acrylics as I appreciate their rapid drying time when layering colours. 
Yet, my paintings are far from spontaneous. They are a reflective and contemplative personal response to sights, sounds, and memories.
Whether it’s an abstract composition, a figurative piece, or something that hovers in between my goal is to capture the essence of a place or a moment in time. 
Each artwork becoming an impression rendered into being, a visual echo of personal experience.

Born and raised in Nottinghamshire, I didn't go to art college until I was in my 30's. I was offered a University placement on finishing the BTEC course but declined and in a manic moment emigrated to Cyprus.
Returning to the UK in 2000 with mental health issues (later diagnosed with Bi-Polar) I have continued to develop my practice, working from a large attic studio at home.
I exhibit sporadically and have won a number of awards including a Clairefontaine award and The Artist exhibition award.
My paintings are displayed in homes and offices throughout the UK as well as the United States, Europe and Australia
