Chris Ellis

Introducing a humble artist hailing from Yorkshire, with talent evident in every meticulously rendered oil painting. An amateur in title but professional in passion, they have honed their craft for the past 6 years, adding color, depth, and emotion into each art piece. Recognized for their talent, they graced the 2022 season of Landscape Artist of the Year (LAOTY) albeit as a Wildcard. Still, they remain humble, learning and growing with every brushstroke.

Artistic background

I am a self-taught artist specialising in Oil Painting. Having appeared on the Sky Arts show Landscape Artist of the Year in 2023 as a Wildcard, and exhibited at the Ferens Art Gallery in 2019. I started painting when my first child was born to help create a stable headspace. From this, I continued to develop work and began to look at showcasing my work through my website, exhibitions, and social media.
