Artistic background
Maria is an Irish artist working from her studio at Wimbledon Art Studios, Earlsfield, London. She is primarily a self-taught artist but art education has included private tuition in portrait painting and a 3-year course of experimental textile techniques at Windsor College where she gained a Higher Diploma with Distinction. That experience involved using a lot of varied media which she enjoyed and continues to work with. Her interest is in developing a style inspired by Pop Art.Artwork has been collected in Europe and the USA and most recently a work was delivered to Thailand.
She has exhibited at the Mall Galleries with the Society of Women Artists and the Royal Society of Marine Artists; also at Wimbledon Art Studios Fairs and The South West Academy of Fine & Applied Arts.
