Artistic background

Colour motivates me to reach for my paintbrushes and tubes of paint, and I can think of no better place to find colour than in flowers. My garden provides a great source of inspiration, from the vibrant pink roses near my door to the ‘unwanted’ pure white daisies in the lawn.

I start each painting with an idea of colour and composition but at some stage the painting tells me how it wants to develop. I listen, and the end result may be quite different from my original vision.
