Alex Doyle
ManchesterHi. I am currently on holiday until 28 November. You can email me while I am away at alex@iannelloartwork.com .
To me, a painting is more than a mere representation; it’s a statement meant to evoke an emotional response in the viewer. Before I begin, I need to feel personally inspired by the subject, recognizing its potential to resonate both aesthetically and emotionally. My process starts with ‘blocking in’—covering the canvas with broad strokes of colour—before I gradually add layer upon layer to capture the essence of the subject and its context. It often takes many iterations to realize the vision I hold in my mind’s eye. Through careful use of perspective and multiple layers of glazing, I strive to give my paintings a depth that invites the viewer to feel as though they could reach into the scene.
Artistic background
Alex Doyle is a British contemporary fine artist creating powerful acrylic paintings inspired by the interaction of light, colour, and perspective in natural and urban landscapes. He is fascinated by nature enjoying woodland, fell and moorland walking which provide a wealth of inspiration for his painting. For him having the time to stop, look and fully appreciate all the wonders of nature –the wildlife, trees and flowers and the interaction of colours and light – is a remarkable gift. He regularly visits family in Italy and Australia both beautiful countries full of artistic inspiration – some of the most spectacular sunsets, landscapes, and seascapes you will see anywhere in the world. His primary medium is acrylics, and he is a member of the Altrincham Society of Artists and the Visual Artists Association. He signs his artwork Iannello, his mother’s maiden name in her memory.Quote
