The ancient parish church of St Cattwg, (Cadoc the Wise), a sixth century Celtic saint, Llanmaes, Vale of Glamorgan. The present building, Norman in style, dates from early in the 13th century, 1234 (an easy date to remember)

Artistic background

I was fortunate to grow up in Pembrokeshire and the beauty of that county with its dramatic coastline, rolling farmland and hills is etched into my sub-conscious. So it is not surprising that land and seascapes are my cup of tea.
I mostly work with acrylics
During the lock-downs I set myself the goal of painting twelve paintings of Pembrokeshire some of these I now offer for sale together with a few other works.

Quote

“To practice any art, no matter how well or how badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. So do it.” – Kurt Vonnegut

Interests

Besides painting I love my sports, fly fishing, rugby, football and golf. I addition my six grandchildren keep me on my toes.
I also study the American Civil War and the history of the US Civil Rights Movement, finding the link between those inter-locked subjects and modern day politics of the USA fascinating, being as they are, so deeply bound to an unique history. I have dragged by long suffering wife across 18 US States on various road trips!
