Artistic background

James is a self taught artist, painting landscapes, seascapes and abstracts using oils, acrylics, pigments and inks, sometimes using a mix of mediums to create greater depth and colour. James often plays around with colour, texture and perspective, attempting to achieve a different feel within each piece. Quite often, he also likes to make a bold use of colour to represent the emotion of the painting. James tries to generate a sense of serenity and sentiment in order to express a feeling of peacefulness and calm.
