I am an artist based at Rogue Artists’ Studios in Manchester, where my work explores the intertwining threads of memory, place, and personal history. My practice is a way to reflect on my journey from adolescence to adulthood, weaving together a visual timeline of recollection and reminiscence.
Through the mediums of print, paint, and photography, I delve into moments that feel both fleeting and enduring—childhood memories, forgotten architectural landscapes, and the subtle transformation of familiar locations. Each piece is a study in observation, aiming to evoke a connection with the viewer and foster a dialogue about time, space, and change.
My work often focuses on capturing the essence of “place”—a haunting presence that speaks to the lost, the isolated, and the in-between. It’s a process of experimentation, where concepts evolve into fluid interpretations, creating visual narratives that resonate with both nostalgia and discovery.
Inspiration for my practice comes from a wide spectrum of influences, including artists like J.M.W. Turner, Henri Matisse, Jasper Johns, Francis Bacon, and Corita Kent , photographers Tony Ray-Jones and Martin Parr; and filmmakers such as Terence Davies and Ken Loach. Their work inspires me to explore the intimacy of the overlooked and the beauty within everyday moments.
Exhibiting internationally has been a pivotal part of my creative journey, as I continue to find ways to share my story and invite others to see their own reflections in my work.
