Artistic background

My passion for painting started as a child and I hosted my first exhibition as a teenager. In the last 10 years, I have studied and developed my technique and style which has allowed me to become a professional artist. I now spend most of my time painting in my studio at home, and have enjoyed selling my art throughout the UK, through exhibitions, on line sales and commissions. My choice of medium is oil, and I enjoy the challenge of painting a wide variety of subjects.
I very much enjoy portraiture and am available for commissions, subject to suitable imagery.

Painting is my meditation - I lose myself when painting, and become totally focused and engaged in the painting.

Interests

I am a competent sailor, and use photographs from sailing trips as a reference for some of my paintings. The countryside and coastline is always a subject I enjoy photographing and recreating on canvas.
I also love to travel, and recently have enjoyed trips around the UK and France.
