Artistic background

I’m a Somerset born watercolour artist with a love of the countryside and the creatures that live there.
Though I love all animals from many countries in the world be they a small insect or large Elephant and everything in between.
I’m self-taught, though I have had a little help from ‘The Devon Artist’ Paul Hopkinson to hone my artistic skills to this level. I came into water colour painting late in life due to getting Rheumatoid Arthritis which curtailed riding my horses , shearing my sheep and keeping my Gloucster Old Spot pigs. I found painting filled my time. I like to paint Fine Detail Water Colour Paintings. I mainly use small 00 brushes with several 'layers' of water colours to achieve the finished painting. Time consuming but I can get lost in the painting. I like to paint the eyes first as I feel the subject needs to see 'what I'm doing'
