Artistic background

Abstract Journeys
After graduating with a fine art degree from the University of the Arts in Norwich I became an art teacher and professional artist. My work is centred around landscape and changes caused by forces of nature.
My inspiration comes from living and working on the vast and breathtaking East Anglian coastline. Much of my work is, in a sense, a recording of changes in this fragile and evanescent landscape.
Norfolk is famous for its stunning landscape and wide open skies, I travel around the area sketching and taking photographs which I then transpose into abstract paintings.
My paintings are quite often textured with sand (just a few grains!) from the chosen area for a particular painting, and markmaking, which is an integral part of my work, is often made from found objects on my coastal journeys.
My work is exhibited and sold locally and nationally, and recently, internationally.
