Artistic background

My name is Sonal Garg and I am a UK artist (based in Hertfordshire). I was born in India and came to the UK in my twenties. I received the gift of painting in heritage. My mother is a gold medallist in fine arts. I started painting from a very early age, watching my mother and her students paint. Painting has been my hobby since childhood. Playing with colours is the best part of my day. Oil is my favourite medium but I also like to experiment with different media. I paint for the fun of it and never thought of selling art before.
Creating original paintings with vibrant, bold colours is my signature work but I don't hesitate to challenge myself. Being close to nature, a lot of my art is inspired from nature. I am not stuck in one style or genre and don't care for rules; instead, I paint the way I want it. My feeling is that rules limit your imagination and freedom to paint. Every single stroke on my painting comes from the heart. I like to paint with complete freedom, observing shapes, forms and colours, taking visual notes in an attempt to create new and different paintings.
Over time I have created a collection of paintings from modern, abstract, classic , textured, detailed, metallic in all sizes and surfaces.
I work on every single painting until I am satisfied with it. Painting fills me with positive energy and gives me immense happiness. When you buy into my art you get the whole experience.
