Description
This abstract painting in acrylic was done several years ago. It is based on the view across the river Forth from Preston Salt Pans to the oil refinery at Grangemouth. There has been an oil refinery there for about 100 years. It is an abstract and very little specific detail is shown. That said, people who are local to the area might recognise it from the yellow/orange flame (visible at the top left of the image) given that an intense flame burning at the top of a high tower (flaring of hydrocarbon gases) is a common site at this plant. Other than the flame the image is reduced to a composition of abstract shapes, two thirds of which represent the river and top third, the plant and the sky above it. In addition to yellow/orange, the colour palette is limited to turquoise and blue.
