Description
The giraffe is the tallest land mammal and are characterised by their long neck and legs. They are beautiful and majestic and I wanted to capture their magnificence in this painting. On the left hand side of the painting, I have also added an Oxpecker bird. It is known that a giraffe and an Oxpecker bird have a symbiotic relationship, thus I felt that the addition of the bird would further enhance the painting. I have used gold paint in parts of the painting, which adds some shimmer. The painting has been varnished with Liquitex gloss varnish. The edges of the canvas have been painted black; therefore it can be hung on the wall without framing.
