Description

This drawing of curlews in flight has been created with a 3D pen and flexible filament. It's difficult to choose a category for these pieces as they are both a sculpture and a drawing.
Working with a 3D pen is literally drawing with plastic and using the rubber-like filament, I've made a piece of round lace. The lace-like fabric has then been securely sewn to a 60cm sturdy wire hoop with fishing line.
I've used black filament for the drawing and clear for the background.
This is an incredibly light piece of art which makes hanging the piece a very easy task.
My 3D pen wall hangings/tapestries look quite delicate but the TPU filament is incredible strong and durable.
It's very easy to keep the art clean and dust free with a vacuum attachment or feather duster.
