Description
Inspired by trees arching over a woodland path, this piece is a celebration of flowers and woods full of blossom in nature's transition, capturing the essence of spring's bloom , new life and growth. With each stroke, I layered acrylics to evoke a dance of colours and Spring breezes blowing the falling petals like confetti their joyful flowers heralding the warmer weather and lighter days. It's an ode to renewal and the delicate interplay between light and shadow. Its textured, semi-abstract forms invite the viewer into a serene, yet jubilant world. Intended to breathe energy into any space, it's a celebration of growth and the promise of new beginnings.
An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife. Harnessing optical mixing techniques employed by the impressionists. I continue working until the painting reaches a natural conclusion. The painting continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
