Calm Before The Storm Pastels

This Pastel drawing was executed using Inscribe pastels on Clairefontaine Pastelmat card. It is framed and mounted behind glass in a black frame, The black frame measures 32cms wide by 42cms tall and is 3.5 cms deep. The white mount aperture measures 19.5cms x 26cms and has a black edging, as can be seen in the photographs.
I used a still from a video taken on a cruise from the UK up into the Arctic Circle for reference. I loved the way the low winter sunshine was breaking through the ominous black and stormy looking clouds, though the sparkling sea was so calm.
