Description
I brought some blackberries in to paint and decided to paint a pair of bullfinches on the prickly stems. Bullfinches really enjoy feasting on these juicy sweet berries and are such a lovely warm Autumn colour.
The Bullfinch is a quiet, secretive but heavily built finch that usually spends its time among the branches and dense undergrowth of woodlands. They eat fruit and are especially fond of blackberries and are a frequent visitor to my garden.
This painting was a challenging composition and took many hours of work to build up the rich textures and colours.
Signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
