Captured within this composition by Stephen, is the repetitive mundane, “City Life” many find themselves trapped within. The ladies and gentlemen depicted, are battling the elements of the wind and rain, in a desperate attempt to make it to the office on time, only to face the challenges the typical 9 till 5 job throws at them day in day out.
The abstract distant buildings represent the false hope the “City Life” offers those who choose to chase after it, yet the bright colours of the ladies coats and matching umbrellas offers the reality of a brighter future, unseen by the many, yet it’s available to all should they wish to grasp hold of it.
Question is, Will you choose to grasp hold of it, or remain caught up in, battling the elements, enveloped within the grip of the “City Life”
