Description
The famous Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich in Scotland did not always look as picturesque as it does now. The current form was built in the 1920s after lying in ruins for 200 years. During the Jacobite rebellion, a company of supporting Spanish soldiers were posted to the castle with a large amount of explosives. The English Government sent three ships to deal with the situation. After bombarding the castle walls with cannon fire, they eventually stormed the castle and blew it up.
I was already intrigued by the story but was definitely thrilled to find that one of the ships was called The Enterprise!
