Description
This one of a kind painting draws inspiration from the timeless beauty of Ukraine and the poetic imagery of Ophelia. It captures the essence of the Ivana Kupala celebration, a Ukrainian festivity that reveres life and love.
In this artwork, the river becomes a stage for the festivity as flower wreaths, each belonging to a single woman in search of love, gently drift downstream. Amidst them, a nude figure gracefully floats, wearing a traditional coral necklace adorned with precious gold and silver coins around her neck. Her head is crowned with a floral wreath, festooned with colorful ribbons, symbolizing the jubilant spirit of the celebration. She becomes one with the water, surrendering to its gentle current as she lets destiny take its course.
The artist uses unique palette knife painting that creates thick textures in this work.
