Description
In the title I have described this painting as Something Old, Something New. The inspiration for the title was the little antique stoneware pot which was made around 1900 and has lived on a shelf in our home for over 40 years.
Its shape is charming and I have always enjoyed arranging a few wild flowers in it. You could say the painting also includes something borrowed as I used my son's paintbrush to paint it, and of course it contains soft blue hues in the background.
So there you have it Something Old, New, borrowed and blue.
The technique is wet into wet watercolour paint which sometimes gives amazingly beautiful results. You have to let the paint run where it will, without overworking it.
I was happy with the result and have put it in a complimentary mount and frame, ready to hang on the wall.
Thank you so much for looking at my art.
