Description
A calm and serene painting, being my interpretation of life in Somerset and Devon, where the reedbeds meet the rivers, such as the Axe at Seaton. The mists are rising and the wind moves the reeds around. The trees still hold their colour but autumn and winter are not far away. In the winter there will be murmurations with thousands of birds settling in the reedbeds... but not yet. Maybe that will be another painting. Is there a booming bittern? Well, you cannot hear them in a painting, but I have heard them in the reedbeds.
I am a countryside person, and love to be inspired by what I see around me, shapes, movements all of which are in this painting.
Thank you for looking.
