Description
The Gardens of Ulysses
The Gardens of Ulysses was inspired by Dantes poetic character in The Devine Comedy published in 1321 which tells the story of Ulysses journey westward through the afterlife into the unknown realms of Hell, Purgatory & Heaven and to the end of the world in pursuit of knowledge. Described at the time as carefully structured and experimental, rich in characterisation, colour, parodies and themes.
He glimpses the Gardens never meant to be seen by living man.
His journeys like mine are driven by a new thirst to discover the unknown in pursuit of virtue and of knowledge.
A symbol of thirst
