Description
A pastel painting of a mother pig lying on a bed of straw feeding her many piglets.
I used to work exclusively in pastel until about 10 years ago when a problem with my thumb joints meant I mostly gave it up. I miss the pastels as their softness provides such gentle skin tones and a velvety feeling to the painting.
These little piglets are really stretching out their bodies over each other to get to the mother's nipples, and the poor mother of so many babies has an air of resignation.
The size of the actual painting is 34cm by 24cm, the mount is 8cm and the frame 2cm wide.
The painting will be shipped in either a strong cardboard box or a crate.
