This is a framed painting based on trips to the west coast of Scotland. I have used a combination of painting knives, sponges and brushes to apply thick layers of paint to depict the energy of the sea in this coastal landscape. I have let the layers of paint build up to help give a sense of the ruggedness and rockiness of the coast. Finally, I have splattered white paint across the sea to accentuate the energy of the waves.
