Description
This is another study of Sunflowers on a Kingfisher blue background influenced by Van Gogh one of my favourite artists. The study of Sunflowers inspires me because of their different shapes and sizes. Even when they are drooping their petals make such interesting shapes. The colours radiateI happiness. I have used soft pastels for this artwork as they are pure pigment. The shades are magic and I delight in using them. They produce such beautiful colours and the ones I am using are from Henri Roche - they manufacture them in Paris. They are a very old firm which some of the French impressionists artists and the likes of Degas and Toulouse Loutrec might have used. This artwork is dry mounted, the pastels have been fixed and it will need framing
