Stormy Weather Mixed Media

I was inspired by a visit to an ancient woodland. The gnarled and somber trees gave the impression that they had been there forever. The atmosphere was quiet, comforting, and reassuring. For generations, they had given shade and shelter to a multitude of unseen wildlife and asked for nothing. They stood alone, but were not. Above and below branches and roots entangled, intertwined. The forest had a history, each tree had its own story to tell.
I had to capture their feelings and stories on canvas.
I use a traditional ancient method of painting in Tempera
