Lightbulb Moment Oil

A small oil painting measuring approximately 16 x 16 cms. This still life of a light bulb was painted using Daler Rowney Graduate oil paints on Arhces Huile paper. The painting is mounted using a white mount behind glass in a white frame measuring approximately 25 x 25 cms.

I have made studies of single objects throughout my artistic career, finding beauty in sometimes the most mundane of every day objects. I aim for my still lives to be realistic, but not hyper realistic. In this painting I try to capture the essence of the lighting on the subject and the textures of the materials that make up the subject (metal and glass) using oil paint. The end result is definitely a painting with visible brush strokes, rather than a hyper realist photographic painting.
