The owl sees in the dark and is often seen as mysterious, mostly because many owls are strictly nocturnal and humans have always found the night to be full of mystery and the unknown.

It's well-known that a lot of creative people love "to burn the midnight oil", to work at night, when there's nothing to disturb their solitude. No wonder the majority of them are "night owls" - all-nighters.
