Hand-painted on a 30.5 x 30.5 cm canvas, this impressionistic painting was created and inspired by a midnight stroll on a blissful coastline. I focused painting with dark blue tones such as indigo, phthalo blue, prussian blue and ultra-marine to give a sense of deep night, with a touch of titanium white to brighten up the moon. I used a muted scale palette on the beginning stages of this painting, layering paint during the later stages to highlight the bright bold colours contrasting with the dark areas of the sky and the sea. Canvas sides are left blank white.
