A Celebration of Colours and Sunsets in London Town. The Neo-Gothic design of Tower Bridge complemented the White Tower and was chosen so that it would complement the former's solid steel frame. London Bridge was the only crossing in London in Roman times. It was rebuilt and changed many times over the centuries, but the modern concrete and steel structure we know today was opened to traffic in 1973. Tower Bridge, on the other hand, has never fallen down--it's still standing today as it was built in 1894. It has become an iconic landmark representing London as an iconic structure that is recognised worldwide.
