Some parts of the body compressed against an illusion of clear glass. My box nudes are emotional paintings and are about being in isolation due to the covid epidemic and being told to keep social distancing. It's about fear unease and hibernating into the future. Putting your life on hold, waiting and contemplation of the future and your life. A trap or a blessing.
It's a talking point which captures a point in life full of emotional and in somcases loss.
The constant reminding to please observe social distancing was a focal point for the artwork to developed in to the original idea.
Textured and colourful the play of form, shades, light and colour interact and play to add life and movement, complementing the juxtapositions of colour and form.
