Description
As both an artist and a psychotherapist, I present to you my painting titled "Old Friends Ben and Thames." This work, created using soft pastels, captures a twilight scene where London's iconic Big Ben stands tall alongside the ever-flowing River Thames. The dark, brooding sky contrasts with the warm, golden glow of the clock tower, which reflects serenely on the water’s surface, creating a dynamic yet peaceful interplay of light and shadow.
In this piece, I’ve aimed to convey the therapeutic essence of art. Through my understanding of the human psyche, I’ve carefully chosen colors and composition to evoke a sense of calm reflection and nostalgia. The blend of deep purples, blues, and warm yellows is intended to draw the viewer into a moment of introspection, providing a tranquil space amid the often hectic pace of life. My hope is that this painting not only captures the beauty of these historic landmarks but also offers a moment of emotional balance and serenity for those who engage with it.
The painting is created with professional soft pastels and drawn on special Pastelmat paper, which has powerful pigment absorption for vibrant colour that remains stable . The picture is framed in a mount, glass and frame
