Description
This was an experiment of putting on a coloured wash and then working on top of that to create a weathered effect to emulate this famous Baroque central statue of the god Oceanus in the Trevi fountain in Rome. Oceanus is the God of the Earth representing the source of all fresh water. Completed in 1762 the impressive work is over 25 metres high and is sculpted in Carara Marble. Hope you like it!
The painting is Winsor and Newton watercolour paints on Hahnemüle, 425gsm, cold pressed, acid free,, watercolour paper. Ready for your choice of mount and frame the paper is 40cm x 30cm size as detailed below. The original artwork comes with my signature on the front and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. The work is also shown with a mount and frame but this is for illustration purposes only.
