Queen's Guard Oil

Another painting on the theme of iconic Britain, this is my second piece featuring the Queen’s Guard (or King's Guard as it should now be known). I was particularly interested not to over-complicate this painting so the viewer can focus on the stillness of the soldier. Although on guard for two hours at a time, a guard is not expected to stand still for more than ten minutes at a time, and so will often be seen marching up and down in front of the sentry box. However, I still think two hours is a very long time!

This painting has been produced using artist grade oil paint on canvas. A coat of professional grade art varnish has been applied to optimise the colour and protect the painting from dust, UV light and other environmental factors. The painting is provided in a complimentary handmade wooden frame which is painted white and fitted with picture wire, ready to hang. The painting is signed on the front and will be shipped with the Certificate of Authenticity.

The painting measures 24 x 18 inches unframed (60.96 x 45.72 cm).
