Rite of Spring Oil

This painting was inspired by baskets of flowers in Twickenham high street. The municipal council have added lots of flowers . The colours were amazing shimmering in the sun. The yellow mauve and pinks looked flamboyant so I added the butterfly for a bit of Spring magic. I enjoy painting flowers as their colours never seem to clash as natures intended that they wouldn't. This painting undercoat is painted in acrylic and I finished it in oils. It is on a stretched canvas and could hang as it is or a simple frame would suffice.
